Just a quick thank you to all of you that have downloaded my game. It is sitting at #96 in the “New & Rising Games” section in the Windows Store. I know it is a super simple game on an old classic… and I need to get v3 (updated scoreboard and possibly an integrated leader board) out ASAP, but I truly appreciate those that have downloaded and played the game. I have also captured a few comments to improve it as well.
I’ll try and get v3 out ASAP but it could take 2-3 weeks as I’m currently in Africa as a Microsoft Volunteer for the MySkills4Afika opportunity.
For those of you that have installed it, I would appreciate a rating (a kind, generous rating).
For those of you that haven’t installed it yet, you can find it here. A thousand thanks for doing so.
I’m also trying to get out my very first platform game… super pumped about that one… details coming soon!!!
Late last night, I published my very first Windows 8 Game to the Windows Store. It is available for any size Windows 8 device running on the ARM (Windows RT) or Intel (Windows 8, Pro, Ent) processor.
This is another simple game that I wanted to create to go through the exercise of creating something and publishing to Microsoft’s Windows Store. It was created using Scirra’s Construct 2 toolset.
You can read through the details about the game regarding the Description, Game Play, Scoring, etc. from my Office 365 Externally Facing website.
This game was created in the week since I posted my very first Windows Phone Game – Factory Frenzy. Soon, I hope to be able to take advantage of Microsoft’s new Universal Apps that will allow the game to be played on all platforms (Windows, Windows Phone, and XBOX). You can learn more about Universal Apps from the blog – Windows Store universal Windows app opportunity.
I hope to update this game to v2 shortly. Version 2 will focus on roaming the personal statistics and giving you the option to remove the in-game ads.
Please download the game, share it, etc. I would like to see if I can get 500+ downloads of this game as well.
Here is an example Tweet (with Short URL):

Just in time for my flight to Seattle, WA, Microsoft has just published the awaited game, Halo: Spartan Assault. This game is made for touch enabled devices; specifically, Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.
You can download the game right now for Windows 8 devices (I just downloaded the ~850 MB game for my Surface RT) for the low price of $6.99.
For Windows Phone 8 users, Halo: Spartan Assault is exclusive to Verizon customers ONLY for the moment. My understanding is that it will come to ALL Windows Phone 8 phones (that can support the hardware requirements) in about a month.

It’s time to join the assault, Spartan!
*Halo Spartan Assault requires users to sign into Xbox with a Microsoft account to play.
As a long-time fan of the Halo Franchise, I’m super excited to see that Halo will be extended to the Windows 8 and Windows Phone Platform. By now, you may have already read the blogs about it, but if not, I want to make sure I spread the word.
I’m also really excited that this will be ONLY available on Windows 8 and Windows Phone devices.
Details from Halo Waypoint
Available only for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8, “Halo: Spartan Assault” is a new top-down action shooter that brings a “Halo” video game to touch-based devices for the first time in franchise history. Developed by 343 Industries in conjunction with Vanguard Games, “Halo: Spartan Assault” provides an accessible, pick-up-and-play experience for fans and newcomers alike.
Set between the events of “Halo 3” and “Halo 4,” “Halo: Spartan Assault” is a new chapter of the award-winning “Halo” universe that explores the first missions of the Spartan Ops program and dives deeper into the backstory of Human-Covenant wars. Play through the eyes of either Commander Sarah Palmer or Spartan Davis stationed aboard the UNSC Infinity as they fight never-before-seen battles against Covenant forces.
With rich storytelling, intuitive controls, and best-in-class action, audio and graphics, “Halo: Spartan Assault” brings the epic scale and action of the “Halo” universe to mobile devices through unrivaled action and intensity.

Earlier in the week I did a post to share that four Windows Phone games were made freely available for Windows Phone Users (normally $2.99 each). These games are FREE for Windows Phone users through April 15, 2013.
Three of those games are now FREE for Windows 8. I can’t confirm, but I was told they are free until April 17, 2013.
